By researching social systems within Barcelona, a new program is embedded into the hotel tower. The prevalence for social networking and a constant connection to the digital world is used as a catalyst for the redesign. The new tower is divided into a horizontal and vertical segment that intersect at the entrance to the hotel. Throughout the towers, media lounges are placed so that the visitors and residents can connect to social networking sites as well as friends and families. The media lounges can also be used to broadcast videos to show others throughout the tower as well as to pedestrians on the street. The media lounges also connect the residents and visitors to the city through the viewing platforms at different altitudes.
